For QG's first participation at Art On Paper, we are happy to announce a solo presentation of recent works on paper by Belgian artist Patrick De Brock.
With Patrick De Brock, intuition takes center stage, guiding the artist's hand in a direct and rapid manner. This fusion of structure and spontaneity creates a palpable rhythm and tension.
De Brock draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of influences, including iconic composers going from classical to modern: from Beethoven, Brahms, Shostakovitch to Philip Glass amongst others. Their works infuse his art with a symphonic quality, adding depth and complexity to the visual and literary elements. Additionally, De Brock's admiration for artists like Twombly and Soutine is evident in the emotional depth and raw energy present in his creations.
