Records of Humanity

QG Gallery is pleased to present a conversation between photography pioneer Eadweard Muybridge and the equally groundbreaking artist couple Bernd & Hilla Becher.

Throughout their respective careers, they have had an undeniable impact on contemporary photography and their peers. They set out to take snapshots of the present and the past: Muybridge with the mouvement of human and animal bodies, Bernd & Hilla Becher with industrial buildings and rural houses.

Their scientific approach and their common idea to keep records of our times is the recurring theme of this exhibition, highlighted through the prism of works from the 1880’s to the late 1990’s.
